At first glance, La Boucherie seems like a joke. Their logo, a giant cow's head licking its chops, is the comedy usually reserved for movie spoofs. We really had no idea what to expect but a place called "The Butcher" couldn't be all bad, right?
We had a number of dishes that cut a wide swath across the menu and most everything was better than expected. Both our appetizers (foie gras and some seafood thing) and desserts were awesome. The main courses were good, but I bet there are at least a few on the menu that are just as good as the other courses were.
Looking back at the meal, having since learned it's a rather large chain in France, I'm fairly impressed. I can see how the menu is somewhat formulaic, but it is decidedly French and done well... so no complaints here. Meaty goodness for the whole family! -

This cute little diner serves great food with wine. Pick the special and the chef special allows the owner to pick her items of the day. Fresh deli items are excellent. I'd could eat them all! Good service.

This place gets one star because the staff was friendly and did what they could to help us in English. The beef was not good and not seasoned at all. They offer you a dipping sauce which didn't taste bad but didn't add much flavor either. The fries were of good. I won't go back.

This place was right across from our hotel. The hostess was very pleasant and made us feel welcomed. I had the chefs special, Filet de Saint Pierre de nos cotes, a Poseille which was very good and my wife had the steak, fries and salad. We were both pleased with our choices. The prices were very reasonable and the menu had a large selection.
